Hey, the sun is shining, the birds are twittering and the flowers are, well, they aren’t really doing very much to be honest.
It is a great day to get out and about and once I switch off this PC I will be slipping on my trusty sandals and heading out for a picnic. Anyone for avocado salad?
Maybe I am just getting too comfortable these days but I can’t help thinking that I could take some patio furniture cushions with me. Back in the old days I would have been happy to eat my picnic perched on the edge of an anthill but things have changed and I think I deserve a bit of comfort now. Speaking of ants, my house is filled with them now but I think I’ll leave that story for another day.
Now if I take some solar lights outdoor things with me I can go a bit mad and have a midnight picnic. That sounds like great fun and I can imagine myself serving the quiche under a full moon and fighting off the pesky mosquitoes as I help myself to another slice of cheese, don’t mind if I do thank you very much.
I have always wanted to go fishing after a day out in the country. The fact that I don’t have a fishing rod might seem to be an insurmountable problem to some people but I am nothing if not resourceful. I have some old curtain rods lying around which I don’t think I will be using anytime soon. What I can do is tie some fishing line to this and try and hook some fish that way. I am sure that I won’t catch anything but at least that means that I won’t be left with the terrible debate over whether to throw the poor critter back.
I’ve just realised that I don’t know what type of clothing is suitable for a picnic these days. I have an old golf shirt and cut off jeans lying around. Would that acceptable or do I need something more elegant? I guess I won’t be looking very elegant as I wave my curtain rod around anyway.
