My little girl’s birthday party went swimmingly the other day. There was a piñata, plenty of cake, a few tears and some small bottles of soft drinks. In short, everything needed for a great kid’s party. Or is there something else I missed out?
At the end of the party she seemed really tired and asked for her bed. There was no bady bedding in the place and I can’t help feeling that this would have helped. Actually, I was pretty knackered as well and wouldn’t have minded a wee lie down if I had been given half a chance. It’s a tiring business smiling at everyone and holding up the piñata.
What about inviting an African grey parrot? Eh? That’s right; I want to invite a psittacine guest as well as the human ones. One of my neighbours has a parrot and she loves shouting at it when we go to the shop to buy eggs and biscuits. The blooming rude thing never bothers to answer back though.
We needed a few more childs play kind of toys there, I think. There is only so long that the little ones can amuse themselves by jumping up and down and running round in circles. I was thinking of hiring a clown, as they are very popular here. The problem is that my niece has a deep rooted fear of clowns and she would have left the place screaming if one had turned up with his out-sized shoes and big, red nose.
What about the parents I hear you ask. Everyone goes on about the kids but we are ones who ran about like mad buying cups and straws and writing out invites. There were invites for boys and girls and as the names are all in Spanish I didn’t even know if half of them were boys and girls. I ended up getting mixed up with two of them and having to run out and buy more invites. Anyway, a quick pamper me day spa will have me right as rain before next year’s big birthday bash.
