Eating is one of the great pleasures in life, isn’t it? I am sure that I am not the only person to sit down with a big grin on my face when it is feeding time. I am always on the look out for exotic meal ideas so let’s see what I can find.
Are there landscaping plants which are good to eat as well? This would make for a great combination, as you could have a nice meal while you do some weeding. When I lived in the rainforest (oh, it’s not that exciting, I was only there for 3 months and didn’t catch any dangerous diseases) we ate a lot of the shrubs but I don’t think you can blame global warming on me just for that.
Do bee keepers get addicted to honey? I have an aunt who keeps bees so I would be pleased to come across recipes using up all of the honey she gives us. I like to put some in my hot chocolate (I am a devil, aren’t I?) and sometimes put it on my bread but I never do anything else with it. I just did a search online and came up with something for chilli honey, now that sounds like a good idea.
I keep mentioning my wish for cotton candy machine rentals in the hope that someone will get me one but they never do. Actually, cotton candy is a much underused ingredient and I think a few strands of it would look great on a trendy dessert. Or what about a cotton candy milkshake? Once I get my machine the sky will be the limit.
My wife is from South America so she tends to cook with a lot of sabores latinos. Fortunately I like just about everything she makes and it would be difficult for me to go back to a UK diet now. Still, I asked her to do a Scottish Latin hybrid meal one day and she came up with stovies with plantain bananas. I am not sure that it is a combination I would really recommend but it is worth trying once in your life. Maybe we’ll go for haggis empanadas next.
