I felt a lot better after writing some good news articles the other day so I thought I would write some more to cheer me up.
I can confirm that there are no gnats in the house I live in. Isn’t that great news? There are lots of ants though. Thousands of the little blighters. Am I the only person who hates ants? You put down a steak sandwich or a crumb for 10 seconds and there they are carrying off bits of it to their blooming house. I read somewhere that there are more ants in the world than any other living creature. To be honest I think there are more in my kitchen than there are humans or mice in the world. And don’t even get me started on the spiders. Hang on, it’s all getting a bit negative now, let’s look for some more good news.
Someone somewhere got saved from being soaked thanks to their outdoor canopy. It wasn’t me though. It is the rainy season here and I keep going out when it is dry but then getting soaked when I am at exactly the furthest point possible from my house. I am just not used to these tropical monsoons yet and I can’t get the hang of it being lovely and sunny and then – boom – the rain comes down.
Someone looked in their full length mirror today and said, “hey, I’m looking gooood”. Was it me? You can bet your cotton socks that it wasn’t. I went to buy a pair of jeans and when my usual size didn’t fit me I risked a sideways glance at myself in the changing room mirror. Hmmm, Christmas still taking its toll? Anyway, I did the only sensible thing open to me and bought a pair of jeans which are too tight for me and might cause me a hernia.
A homeowner proudly showed off their landscaping shrubs today to astonished neighbours. Me? I’ve got the builders in again and the garden is a disaster (again). My regular reader may remember that I promised never to deal with builders again, but I just couldn’t help myself. All in all a bit of bad news day today, eh?
