What would I take with me on an intergalatic trip? This is something I have seriously thought about in the past. Seeing some of the pics back from Mars has got me into a space travelling frame of mind again, so let’s see what will go in my suitcase.
Do space ships come with seat belts fitted or should I bring my own? I only ask because I have some spare ones and the thought of going really fast kind of scares me. I don’t think a seat belt is really going to save me if we crash into Mercury at 5 million miles per hour but, hey, it never does any harm to buckle up.
I would take some old fashioned weapons with me. If I meet some hostile aliens I would need a back up plan if they block my laser guns (or whatever they give astronauts these days). My Dad made me an old bow and arrow set when I was a kid so I might see whether it is still in his garage. Of course, I’ll need some low gravity archery lessons, as I have only ever fired it in an Earth style gravity situation.
Wouldn’t it be great to have an indoor wood furnace on your spaceship ( I really want to call it a space rocket but I think that is no longer the most popular phrase). As we orbit the Earth I could throw on another log and pour myself a glass of the red, fruity stuff. It’s a good life this space travelling, isn’t it? I might never come back.
If I take a speedy muffler with me would it make the noise of the rocket’s engine even more impressive? I could also spray paint some designs on it and turn it into a boy racer spaceship. Of course, I wouldn’t be silly enough to get involved in races with other space ships or try and jump the red lights now and then.
